In her third novel, Im Meer waren wir nie, Meral Kureyshi offers a realistic yet poetic exploration of women’s lives across generations, weaving a rich and layered portrait of family relationships in our time. Born in 1983 in Prizren, Kosovo’s second-largest city, Kureyshi moved to Switzerland with her family in 1992 and now lives in Bern. She studied literature and German studies and published her first two novels, Elefanten im Garten and Fünf Jahreszeiten, to great acclaim. On our Forum stage, Meral will read from her latest novel, which was published earlier this year.
